The 8 Best Meteorite Dial Watches at European Watch Company

You don’t always have to look to complications when looking for unique watches. Interesting materials will often bring a whole new look to a watch. Such is definitely the case with meteorite dials. Many brands have been fitting their timepieces with dials made from meteorites, to give their timepiece a different, and out of this world, look. In this guide, we decided to take a look at 8 of our favorite watches with meteorite dials.

Rolex GMT-Master II 126719BLRO

Rolex GMT-Master II Meteorite Ref. 126719BLRO

Price: $50,000-$55,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12mm, Lug-to-Lug: 48mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: White Gold

If you like the look of the Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” but want something with a little more flash, the Ref. 126719BLRO is a great choice. I know, the white gold case is actually understated (and often mistaken for steel), but the light meteorite dial is a showstopper. And of course, anyone whose in the know knows that Rolex doesn’t offer meteorite dials on steel watches. If you know, you know.

Rolex Daytona Ref. 116508

Rolex-Daytona-Meteorite-116508

Price: $95,000-$105,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12.2mm, Lug-to-Lug: 46.5mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Yellow Gold

A reverse panda meteorite dial? Sign me up. And that’s exactly what you get with the Rolex Daytona 116508. House in a yellow gold case, the grey meteorite dial is contrasted by the black chronograph subdials. Somehow, with all the luxurious upgrades, this variation of the Daytona still looks very much like a sports watch. And that’s why we love it so much.

Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228239

Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228239

Price: $55,000-$60,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12.2mm, Lug-to-Lug: 47.3mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: White Gold

There is something extremely classy about the monochromatic look of the Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228239. The white gold case and grey-ish meteorite dial produce a very cohesive aesthetic. Even the baguette diamond indices blend into the dial, giving the watch a very understated look. But while the watch may look understated, in actuality it’s a real heavy-hitter. And it’s one of our favorite meteorite dial watches on the market.

Hermes Arceau L’heure de la Lune

Price: $20,000-$25,000, Case Size: 43mm, Thickness: 13.27mm, Lug-to-Lug: N.A., Lug Width: 22mm, Water Resistance: 30m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: White Gold

A lot of people do not realize the high quality of Hermes’ watchmaking department. And one watch that is a great example of the brand’s watchmaking prowess is the Arceau L’heure de la Lune. Besides the watch just being a stunning timepiece with a dark grey meteorite dial, it also showcases two floating subdials, one for the time and the other for the date. Underneath these subdials are two moonphases, representing both the northern and southern hemispheres. A true work of art for the collector who wants something different.

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Ref. 311.63.44.51.99.002

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Ref. 311.63.44.51.99.002

Price: $10,000-$15,000, Case Size: 44mm, Thickness: 16.1mm, Lug-to-Lug: 49.8mm., Lug Width: 21mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Ceramic

A meteorite dial on the Omega Speedmaster just makes a ton of sense. And one of our favorite Speedys with a meteorite dial is the Dark Side of the Moon Ref. 311.63.44.51.99.002. This piece is often referred to by collectors as the “Grey Side of the Moon” due to the grey ceramic dial, matched to the dark grey meteorite dial and bezel. This watch comes in a little larger than your standard Speedmaster, at 44mm in diameter. Either way, we really love it, and it is unique among the many Speedmasters in Omega’s catalog.

Omega Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz Ref. 311.30.42.30.99.001

Omega Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz Ref. 311.30.42.30.99.001

Price: $15,000-$20,000, Case Size: 42mm, Thickness: 14.5mm, Lug-to-Lug: 48mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Manual Winding, Material: Stainless Steel

Given the Speedmaster’s relationship with space travel, we thought we could include a second model on our list. The Apollo-Soyuz Ref. 311.30.42.30.99.001 is interesting in the way the meteorite dial is configured. The main dial is a dark grey, almost black, meteorite, while the subdials are a very light grey meteorite. This is a reverse panda theme, except with the whole dial being made of meteorite. It is very unique and well-executed. Unlike anything we’ve seen on the market.

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Meteorite Dial Ref. PFC267-3001400-HA1441

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Meteorite Dial Ref. PFC267-3001400-HA1441

Price: $14,000-$16,000, Case Size: 39mm, Thickness: 7.8mm, Lug-to-Lug: N.A., Lug Width: N.A., Water Resistance: 30m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Titanium

Looking from afar, you might not even realize the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Ref. PFC267-3001400-HA1441 has a meteorite dial. It is so dark that it almost appears black. This makes sense, as the brand is known for their simple, sterile, yet elegant dials. If you want a dress watch with a little bit of flare, this Tonda is a great option.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite Dial Ref. Q1558421

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite Dial Ref. Q1558421

Price: $10,000-$13,000, Case Size: 39mm, Thickness: 10.6mm, Lug-to-Lug: N.A., Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Stainless Steel

Jaeger-LeCoultre is a perennially underrated brand. They offer some of the best value in the industry. And this can be seen in the Master Calendar Meteorite Dial Ref. Q1558421. With this watch, you not only get a meteorite dial, but a moonphase, day, date, and month, all for under $15,000 on the secondary market. And the watch looks great too. It has a classic, dress watch aesthetic that will never go out of style.
